MOE: Yes, your Honor. 5 BY MS. MOE: 6 Q. Matt, were there times when Jane would talk to you about 7 her family's financial circumstances when she was growing up? 8 A. Yes. 9 Q. What did she tell you about that? 10 A. She told me that when her father got sick, that her mother 11 spent basically all of the money that they had for his 12 treatments, and obviously hoping that he would survive. And he 13 didn't. And basically she -- that she was the one who left 14 them broke. 15 Q. And did Jane tell you what her family's financial 16 circumstances were like after her father passed away? 17 A. Yes. 18 Q. What did she tell you about that? 19 A. That they basically had no money. The mother was working a 20 small job. And I think she said at one point the three of 21 the -- that her and her two brothers were sleeping in the same 22 bed at one point because they were living in such a small 23 place, and the three of them had to sleep in the same bed. 24 Q.
